Types of therapy offered
·Individual therapy - Therapy that takes place with therapist and client alone. In this, the most common type of therapy, therapist and client work together to formulate and achieve goals set by the client.
·Group therapy- Therapy that takes place with therapist and generally up to 8 or 9 other people. Group therapy usually focuses on the "here and now" interactions of the group members and how those translate to each individual member's outside life.
·Family therapy- Therapy that includes parents, spouses and children together, focusing on repairing and strengthening family bonds and reducing family conflict.
·Couples counseling- Therapy in which a couple focuses on strengthening their romantic relationship. This type of therapy obviously involves at least two people but it is not always necessary for both parties to be present for therapy to be effective.
Sessions
·Sessions generally take place once weekly and are 45 minutes.
·In the first session, I will gather information by asking several very specific questions. At that time, if you feel we are a good fit, we will complete some brief paperwork and schedule a second appointment.
·In the second and following sessions we will work together to formulate goals that you feel are important and begin working towards them.
·Therapy will continue until you decide it is no longer needed.
·Therapy is directed by YOU. Through encouragement and support within the therapeutic relationship, you will decide what is important and how quickly you progress towards goals.
Fees
·Fees are dependent upon services and can be negotiated based on income. Generally, however, rates start at $120 per session. Insurance is not accepted as payment.
